Walter J. Russell received his medical education at St. Louis University Medical School. He graduated in 1952 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He is a member of several learned societies. In July of 1959, he was appointed Chief of the Department of Radiology of the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission. Dr. Russell continued his to conduct his research with the ABCC successor organization, the Radiation Effects Research Foundation. His association with RERF continues today. Abstract

Walter J. Russell donated the material in this collection in 1986, 1989, and 1995. Dr. Russell received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the St. Louis University Medical School, in 1952.
